Baltimore Ravens. MAXX WILLIAMS. B. 32 receptions
268 yards
1 TD . TE

Many were expecting bigger and better things from the top tight end selected in the 2015 draft, but Williams had himself a solid first season with the Ravens. He finished one catch behind Gillmore for fifth-best on the team in receptions, but realistically, he should have had more.

The former Minnesota standout really shined once Gillmore went down and Boyle was suspended. He was targeted 21 times in the final three weeks, hauling in 13 passes for 100 yards. Ryan Mallett would look his way 10 times in the season finale against the Cincinnati Bengals. He finished with six catches for 53 yards in the game, but should have done more, dropping a pass on a key fourth down play that would have extended the game for the Ravens.

He was targeted 48 times, the most of any tight end, and was guilty of dropping some easy balls. What made that so mind-boggling was that Williams also made some ridiculous catches throughout the season. If he can clean up those lapses, he has a chance to make a bigger impact next season.

Baltimore has a piece that showed he is capable of playing against some of the NFL’s best. Williams did his best in the two games against the Bengals, and like it or not, they have one of the best teams in football with linebackers who can cover. Williams still made plays against those guys and that’s big for his development.
