Baltimore Ravens: Team Picking Baker Mayfield Would Be a Good Move
By Steve Rudden
Baker Mayfield is one of the top quarterbacks in the draft, and having him in Baltimore Ravens uniform would be fine by me.
Joe Flacco won’t be the Baltimore Ravens quarterback forever, so I’m putting this out in the open. The Baltimore Ravens should move up in the 2018 NFL Draft and take him. Sure, he might not be a starter right away, but he will be in the next few seasons.
He can always learn from Joe. What Baker Mayfield brings to the football field is passion and a desire to win. Sure, he’s had his incidents on and off the field, but nobody is perfect. It seems like he’s put his off the field issues behind him anyways.
The former walk-on at Texas Tech and Oklahoma is a winner and will be a winner in the NFL. As much as Joe Flacco is a winner in the NFL, he’s not really a leader. He’s not like a Ray Lewis type that will motivate you and Baker Mayfield will be that leader that will motivate you.

John Harbaugh will probably do whatever he can to stop the Ravens from moving up to draft a quarterback like Baker Mayfield, but he shouldn’t. Mayfield probably isn’t the type of player that Harbaugh wants on his team, but he should always want winners, especially confident ones.
If Ozzie Newsome wants to make a splash in his final draft as the Baltimore Ravens General Manager, then he will make a splash. Hopefully that splash is Baker Mayfield. What better way to set up Eric DeCosta. DeCosta will have a potential next franchise quarterback when Joe Flacco isn’t a Raven anymore.
