Thursday night starts the 2018 NFL Draft and it’s no secret that the Baltimore Ravens need help on offense. The question is if they draft solely on need rather than the best player available.

It’s no question that the Baltimore Ravens need to upgrade the offensive side of the ball, especially on the offensive line. How far is Ozzie Newsome willing to go to pass up some great defensive players during the 2018 NFL draft?

Ozzie has been known to take the best player available, no matter what the glaring need is on the team. This draft is an interesting one because it’s his last as the Ravens General Manager. He’ll most likely try to do whatever he can to improve the team so they can be winners even after he exits from the General Manager’s post.

I’m not so sure the Baltimore Ravens will waste a first-round pick on a receiver now that Michael Crabtree, John Brown, and possibly Willie Snead are on the roster. It does make sense for them to go offensive line for the first few picks. I’d love to have them solidify the line for years to come.

More from Baltimore Ravens

Knowing Ozzie, he will probably draft the best player available, and that might be a defensive player. If not, he could trade back to get some extra draft picks.

Maxx Williams and Nick Boyle haven’t really performed that well since being drafted by the Ravens. They’ve been either injured or suspended due. I’m sure Ozzie will want to upgrade the Tight End position as well since they weren’t able to sign Eric Ebron this offseason.

Joe Flacco likes a security blanket, so the Ravens would be smart if they drafted a blocking tight end that can catch as well. You see how successful Flacco can be with a Dennis Pitta type player.

I’m excited to see what kind of players the Ravens draft on Thursday night.  Do you think they go mostly offense in the 2018 Draft?
