The Baltimore Ravens had a rough year last year, but now we look ahead to 2017 in the hopes of a turnaround year with the release of their 2017 schedule.

The Baltimore Ravens had a disappointing season in 2016. They finished the year 8-8, and failed to make the playoffs for the third time in four years. This was largely due to a mediocre, at best, offense that was incredibly inconsistent.

Their defense was solid, as they finished the year as a top-10 passing defense. They were tied for the most interceptions in the league, tied for the seventh-lowest yards per passing attempt, and were ninth in total passing yards allowed.

But on the offensive side, they struggled. The Baltimore Ravens finished the season 21st in the league in scoring (21.4 points per game), 17th in yards per game (347.7), and 28th in touchdowns (32).

The team showed they need balance, as they finished the year with the most passing attempts in the NFL (679) but the third-fewest rushing attempts (367), a franchise low.

However now, we look ahead to 2017, in the hopes that the Ravens can turn it around. And to do that, we’ll take a look at their 2017 schedule.

These are the home and away opponents for the Ravens:

Home: Steelers, Browns, Bengals, Texans, Colts, Bears, Lions, Dolphins

Away: Steelers, Browns, Bengals, Jaguars (London), Titans, Packers, Vikings, Raiders

This is the weekly schedule (all times are EST):

Week 1: at Cincinnati Bengals – 1:00 PM
Week 2: vs. Cleveland Browns – 1:00 PM
Week 3: at Jacksonville Jaguars (London) – 9:30 AM
Week 4: vs. Pittsburgh Steelers – 1:00 PM
Week 5: at Oakland Raiders – 4:05 PM
Week 6: vs. Chicago Bears – 1:00 PM
Week 7: at Minnesota Vikings – 1:00 PM
Week 8: vs. Miami Dolphins – 8:25 PM (Thursday Night Football)
Week 9: at Tennessee Titans – 1:00 PM
Week 10: BYE WEEK
Week 11: at Green Bay Packers – 1:00 PM
Week 12: vs. Houston Texans – 8:30 PM (Monday Night Football)
Week 13: vs. Detroit Lions – 1:00 PM
Week 14: at Pittsburgh Steelers – 8:30 PM (Sunday Night Football)
Week 15: at Cleveland Browns – 1:00 PM
Week 16: vs. Indianapolis Colts – 4:30 PM
Week 17: vs. Cincinnati Bengals – 1:00 PM

Fortunately for the Ravens they have one of the easier schedules just purely based on winning percentage, as baltimoreravens.com reporter Ryan Mink notes:

With the retirement of wide receiver Steve Smith and the surprise retirement of linebacker Zach Orr, along with an aging linebacker corps and an uncertain running game, there are a lot of areas the Baltimore Ravens need to address this offseason.

One of the big ways they’ll do that is through the NFL Draft, and we’ve covered some wide receivers and outer linebackers the team should target.

If the Baltimore Ravens are able to address their needs this offseason and take advantage of a favorable schedule, we may be seeing them back in the playoffs in no time.
