Baltimore Orioles Adam Jones lands near the top among a talented group of American League East center fielders.

As Spring Training began for the Baltimore Orioles, I started my annual series of ranking each position in the American League East (Preseason rankings: C | 1B | 2B | 3B | SSLF | CF).

With the 2016 season officially over, I have released my latest AL East rankings for the positions of catcher, first base, second base, third base, shortstop and left field.

So, after the left field mess, center field provides much more stability.

Before the season started, I ranked Baltimore Orioles Adam Jones first. I received some heat for this, from people who would rather have the defense and contact hitting of Kevin Pillar and Kevin Kiermaier. I ranked the Yankees’ fourth, with the oft-injured Jacoby Ellsbury leading the way, which left the unproven Jackie Bradley Junior and the Red Sox last.

Well, as you can imagine, we are in for some changes. So, let’s get to it. Just a warning, these rankings are very, very close.
