Left field is a position where the Baltimore Orioles and the rest of the A.L. East struggled to find success at the position.

As Spring Training began for theBaltimore Orioles, I started my annual series of ranking each position in the American League East (Preseason rankings:C|1B|2B|3BSS,LF).

With the 2016 season officially over, I have released my latest AL East rankings for the positions ofcatcher, first base, second base, third baseandshortstop.

Which brings us to the outfield. The problem in the outfield in the American League East is that going into the season; there were a lot of platoon question marks, and also what corner outfield position people will play.

The good news is that in my preseason rankings, I got the guys who would lead each team in starts correct, except for Boston, whereRusney Castillocontinues to be a major bust.

I rankedCorey Dickersonand the Rays first, and as you will see shortly, that was quite a stretch. But, the ranking review is tough. No one separated themselves, and so there is a lot of debate possible here.

In looking at those rankings compared to performance, I will examine each player who started at least ten games at the position for that team.
