2016 AL East Rankings by Position: Right Field

4. New York Yankees – Carlos Beltran, Aaron Hicks, Dustin Ackley, Slade Heathcott
So, let’s count who all I have discussed who I didn’t think would stay healthy this year. Mark Teixiera, Troy Tulowitzki, and now Carlos Beltran. Beltran will turn 39 during the season, and he has A TON of miles on his legs as a former CF in spacious Kauffman Stadium and Busch Stadium. In 2014, he was not able to stay healthy and hit. 230/.301/.402. Not good.
In 2015, Beltran went .276/.337/.471 with 19 HRs, 34 2Bs, 67 RBIs, 57 R. This is a guy who used to run a lot, but last year had zero stolen bases. He also had a defensive WAR of -2.0, which is bad. It also is hard to watch, as Beltran was as good as they come in CF early in his career.
Now, Beltran is making a ton of money to provide offense for the Yanks, and last year he was pretty good at that. Will that happen in 2016? My money is no. But, maybe he will prove me wrong.
Next: Lots of strike outs here...
