Baltimore Ravens Injury Report vs. Denver Broncos
By Joe Serpico
The Baltimore Ravens could be missing some key pieces of the team for Sunday’s season opener against the Denver Broncos. Two players have been ruled out and another two will be game-time decisions.
Meanwhile, the Broncos enter the season relatively healthy, with all but one player not expected to play Sunday.

Brent Urban (biceps) – OUT/IR-Designated for Return
The Ravens officially placed the defensive end on the injured reserve with the designation to return on Sept. 8. He will be eligible to return for the Week 10 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Urban also missed last season with a torn ACL.
Breshad Perriman (knee) – OUT
The top selection in this year’s draft has been out since the first day of training camp with a knee injury. He did not play in a single preseason game, and even if he were to practice this week, John Harbaugh said earlier this week that “it’s probably not a real big chance” that he plays. Kamar Aiken will see most of the snaps opposite Steve Smith Sr. while Perriman recovers.
Lorenzo Taliaferro (knee) – OUT
The backup running back has been out since the preseason matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles with an MCL sprain. The second-year back is expected to be out for a couple weeks. Javorius Allen figures to see an increase in repetitions with Taliaferro sidelined.
Timmy Jernigan (knee) – Doubtful
The second-round pick from last season injured himself in the preseason game against the Washington Redskins. Everyone was holding their breath as he gingerly walked off the field, but thankfully he avoided serious injury. He was a limited participant in practice this week meaning his status for the regular season opener is still in the air and he will likely be a game-time decision.
Rashaan Melvin (thigh) – Doubtful
Melvin has been dealing with a soft tissue injury to his thigh throughout the end of the preseason, missing the finale against the Atlanta Falcons. He has missed all practices this week until the Friday walk-through and Dean Pees could be down a man in the secondary against Peyton Manning. The Ravens could add Asa Jackson to the 53-man roster from the practice squad if they choose to do so.
Lardarius Webb, Michael Campanaro and the entire starting offensive line have been practicing this week and all are expected to play after being held out during the latter part of preseason for precautionary purposes.
Here is the Broncos injury report:
Kenny Anunike (knee) – OUT
Lerentee McCray (groin) – Questionable
Omar Bolden (ribs) – Probable
Brandon Marshall, the LB, not the WR (foot) – Probable
OUT – Player will not play
Doubtful – 75% chance player will not play
Questionable – 50-50 chance player will play
Probable – Player likely will play
