6. D.J. Chark – LSU
D.J. Chark finished last season with 40 catches for 874 yards and three touchdowns during his last season with LSU. That may not sound like much of a season, but LSU had a pretty bad passing game overall, which is what kept Chark from really exploding.
Chark is 6’2″ 196 pounds and is an impressive athlete. He’s a good vertical threat who shows impressive quickness downfield. He flashed a lot of that talent in the Senior Bowl, catching five balls for 160 yards and a touchdown.
The knock against Chark though is his route running. He seems to be almost exclusively a deep threat, and while there’s definitely a use for a player like that, especially one with Chark’s speed and height, it would be nice to see him expand that route tree a bit.
