Baltimore Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti was featured on Forbes’ list of the richest sports team owners in America, the only Baltimore sports owner to make the list.

Bisciotti ranked 19th on the list with a worth of $4 billion, tied with Joan Tisch, owner of the New York Giants, and just behind Terrence Pegula, owner of the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres (worth $4.3 billion).

Here’s how the top-10 of the list looked:

  1. Steve Ballmer (Los Angeles Clippers) – $33.6 billion
  2. Paul Allen (Seattle Seahawks, Portland Trail Blazers) – $20.6 billion
  3. Philip Anschutz (Los Angeles Kings, L.A. Galaxy) – $12.6 billion
  4. Micky Arison (Miami Heat) –$9.4 billion
  5. Stanley Kroenke (Los Angeles Rams, Arsenal) – $8.1 billion
  6. Stephen Ross (Miami Dolphins) – $7.5 billion
  7. Shahid Khan (Jacksonville Jaguars) –$7.1 billion
  8. Robert Kraft (New England Patriots, New England Revolution) – $6.2 billion
  9. Charles Johnson (San Francisco Giants) –$6 billion
  10. Dan Gilbert (Cleveland Cavaliers) –$5.8 billion

Bisciotti was born to an Italian-American working-class family in 1960, living in a Baltimore suburb until 1961 when his family moved to Severna Park, Maryland.

More from Baltimore Ravens

Bisciotti graduated from Salisbury University in 1982 with a degree in liberal arts, and in 1983 at the age of 23, Bisciotti and his friend Jim Davis started the company Aerotek, a company focused on addressing staffing needs in the aerospace and technology industry.

Eventually, Aerotek became Allegis Group, which is currently the largest privately-held staffing firm in the United States, and the fourth-largest in the world. Along with Aerotek, Allegis Group also owns Maxim Healthcare, Aston Carter, and TEKsystems.

In March of 2000, the NFL owners approved a sale of 49% of the Baltimore Ravens to Bisciotti, and in 2004, Bisciotti purchased the remainder of the Baltimore Ravens for $325 million from Art Modell.

Bisciotti was the reason that former Baltimore Ravens coach Brian Billick was fired after the 2007 season, and he was also the one who selected John Harbaugh to take over, surprising many given Harbaugh’s lack of experience, having just been a defensive backs coach for one year and a special teams coach for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Next: What the Ravens Need to Focus on This Offseason

Since Bisciotti fully purchased the team in 2004, the Baltimore Ravens have a combined 127-97 with one Super Bowl win.
