Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker has been named the greatest kicker of all time according to NFL analyst Gil Brandt in his recent rankings.

Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker has been named the greatest kicker of all time according to NFL analyst Gil Brant in his recent rankings of the 18 best kickers of all time.

Rounding out the top five following Tucker were Adam Vinatieri, Morten Andersen, Jason Hanson, and Gary Anderson. Former Baltimore Ravens kicker Matt Stover was also featured on the list at number 11 just behind Jim Bakken (though for some reason, Brandt included a photo of Stover in an Indianapolis Colts jersey rather than a Baltimore Ravens one).

Tucker was one of three currently active NFL kickers on the list, along with Vinatieri, and New England Patriots kicker Stephen Gostkowski, who was ranked at number seven, however Tucker was by far the youngest, at 27 years old.

More from Baltimore Ravens

Tucker is certainly an interesting choice for greatest kicker in NFL history. You could certainly make the argument based on the fact that he’s a Super Bowl winner with two Pro Bowls and two first-team All-Pro selections.

The stats are pretty incredible for Tucker too. He ranks top all-time in field goal percentage at 89.8% and he’s never missed an extra point kick, going 166-for-166 so far. Tucker even at one point last season suggested that the NFL award kickers for making field goals on kickoffs, and his career-long  61-yard field goal shows off just how incredible his leg power is.

The only knock against Tucker being ranked as the top kicker in NFL history is his age. Again, he’s just 27, he’s entering his sixth season in the NFL, there’s still a lot of career left to call him the greatest kicker of all time.

All that being said, the stats don’t lie, and those along with some of the huge moments he’s had during his five-year career in the NFL make a decent argument for him to be called the greatest kicker in NFL history.

Next: Ray Lewis Ranked as the 8th Best Linebacker of All Time

Brandt was certainly criticized by Baltimore Ravens fans for his ranking of Ray Lewis as the eighth-best linebacker of all time, but I’m sure Ravens fans will be pleased with this list (though personally, I’d have Stover a little higher, but that’s me).
