Baltimore Orioles strive to get back on track versus Houston Astros

Orioles need to manufacture runs
This isn’t a new discussion either.
The Orioles are struggling to score runs, particularly if not via the home run.
In their last game, the Orioles lost 4-3. All three of those runs were scored on solo home runs. Home runs are great, but guys need to be on base, and they can’t be the only source of scoring.
The Baltimore Orioles have hit 65 home runs on the season, putting them within five home runs of the most in the American League.
But, they have only scored 207 runs for the year.
Now, I don’t know what percentage of runs the Orioles have scored this year that has come via the home run. My guess is it is nearly half, if not more. I tried to find some statistics on that but wasn’t able to.
The Orioles are a huge home run hitting team, even when some of their power hitters, such as Chris Davis and Machado are struggling. And, Mark Trumbo hasn’t hit a lot of home runs either.

If the Orioles can get Machado to be more consistent and swinging better, get runs scored in numerous ways and get the pitching to go six innings consistently, I think it will go a long way to help get the Orioles back to playing the way they were earlier in the season.
