3. August 17, 2012, @ Detroit Tigers

Unfortunately, I cannot link this video from Youtube, but you can view it here.

Here’s what happened.

Rookie third baseman, Manny Machado made an outstanding play on a ground ball behind the bag at third and made a strong throw to first baseman Mark Reynolds. Manny’s throw pulled Reynolds off the bag, however, it appeared as if his toes stayed on the bag as he lunged for the ball.

Initially ruled out, after Detroit Tigers manager Jim Leyland came out to dispute the call, the umpire conferred and overturned the call.

Much to the dismay of Mark Reynolds, who slammed his glove down at first base.

Second base umpire Vic Carapazza caught this and immediately ejected Reynolds from the game.

If you find the video of this you can hear Jim Palmer stating you cannot be ejected from a game for throwing your equipment. It is a finable offense only.

After Reynolds gets ejected, Showalter can be seen hauling it from the dugout to confront the umpiring crew and find out what exactly happened, and why his first baseman was tossed.

This is one of Buck’s most memorable confrontations as he looked as if he was ready to rip someone’s head off.

However, there are two more ejections to see.
