5. John Wall records a season-high 18 assists versus the Minnesota Timberwolves

The first home game of 2017 featured the young and promising Minnesota Timberwolves on a Friday night at Verizon Center.

The Wizards had their hands full with an invincible Andrew Wiggins, who tallied 41 of the Timberwolves’ 105 points. Not only did Wiggins go off, but sophomore phenom Karl-Anthony Towns recorded his usual double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds.

However, John Wall, who heads the Eastern Conference in assists, dished out a season-high 18 assists, just one shy of his career-best 19 assists. Coupled with Bradley Beal‘s 22 points, the Wizards awarded the announced 18,686 in attendance with their ninth consecutive home victory.
