Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal scored 31 points, including seven made three-pointers, and the Wizards beat the Sacramento Kings 101-95 in overtime.

Washington Wizards fifth-year player Bradley Beal hit a season-high seven three-pointers in Monday night’s overtime win against the Sacramento Kings, 101-95. Beal is averaging 29.2 points per game over the last five games including a career-high 42 points against the Suns a week ago and scored 34 points in a loss to the Heat on November 19.

The Washington Wizards are now winners of four of their last six games, with wins against New York (8-9), Phoenix (5-13), Orlando (6-11), and Sacramento (7-11). With tonight’s win, the Wizards improve their record to 6-10 on the young season and now sit in third place in the Southeast Division. Orlando and Miami have lost a combined six straight games.

A three-point basket by John Wall that put the Wizards up by five points with just 2:24 remaining in the fourth quarter, but the Wizards were unable to put the game away as Kings center DeMarcus Cousins hit a clutch drive layup shot to tie the game at 92 with 10.9 seconds left.

Wall held the last possession of the game but was unable to connect on a potential game-winning fadeaway jump shot as time expired forcing the game to overtime. The Kings were held to just three points in overtime as Wall hit four clutch free throws to help secure the Wizards sixth victory of the year.

Wizards’ Wall scored 19 points, and 11 assists and technically recorded a triple-double, but not the conventional triple-double we are used to seeing from the three-time All-Star. Wizards’ point guard had a career-high 11 turnovers catapulting the team’s total turnover to 23 on the night. Wall’s 4.2 turnovers per game this season is third most in the NBA behind Thunder’s Russell Westbrook and Rocket’s James Harden.

Wall’s former University of Kentucky teammate Cousins recorded his sixth double-double in the past seven games with 36 points and a season-high 20 rebounds. Despite Cousin’s 20 rebounds, the Wizards outrebounded the Kings 49-41. Kelly Oubre led the team with ten rebounds and Wizards’ Otto Porter and Wall both had eight rebounds respectively.

After making his season debut against San Antonio on Saturday night, Wizards center Ian Mahinmi was back on the team’s injury list Monday night, unable to play against the Kings. According to the Washington Post’s Candace Buckner, Mahinmi is experiencing soreness in his right, non-surgical knee and is listed day to day. The Wizards center suffered partially torn medial meniscus in his left knee that required surgery. Mahinmi spent the last six weeks rehabbing his left knee.
