5. Tampa Bay Rays – Corey Dickerson, Logan Morrison, Brandon Guyer, Steve Pearce

Preseason Prediction – 5th, Logan Morrison, Steve Pearce, Brandon Guyer

The Tampa Bay Rays DH position was relatively easy to predict, although one aging star gave the Rays a run for last. The Rays had a few additional DH types in Logan Morrison, Brandon Guyer, and Steve Pearce, but it was Corey Dickerson, who played the most games in left field as well, as the main DH. That doesn’t mean these were the only ones. The Rays used NINETEEN players as DHs. That’s a lot.

Why are the Rays last? Dickerson provided the power in his first year, but little else. And while the team that placed fourth was led by a guy who struggled mightily, the other main DHs all did better than Morrison, Guyer, and Pearce (two of which were traded in midseason).
