Baltimore’s Injury Bug Back

In addition to the guys on the PUP list, several other Ravens are nursing injuries and may not take the field Thursday night. Many of the players missing time are at the skill positions.

Tight ends Maxx Williams, Dennis Pitta and Crockett Gillmore all missed practice on Tuesday and are unlikely to play Thursday. Daniel Brown missed practice on Monday which puts his status up in the air. If all four cannot go, the Ravens would play with just three tight ends: Ben Watson, Nick Boyle and Darren Waller. What makes that kind of comical is that the latter two are suspended to start the season.

First-round pick Ronnie Stanley suffered what the team is calling a “soft tissue injury” and missed practice Monday. What a soft tissue injury means is unknown, just like his status for Thursday. I would be shocked to see the Ravens risk their top pick if he has even the slightest injury nagging him.

The Ravens are already missing Smith and Perriman, and Michael Campanaro, Chris Matthews and fourth-round pick Chris Moore missed practice today as well. Moore and Matthews have been terrific thus far in camp, but in the games is when it really counts. Harbaugh said Campanaro is “one of his favorite guys,” but he is in a battle for a spot on the roster.
