Joe Flacco‘s Return

The most important news of the summer will be how quarterback Joe Flacco recovers from his ACL injury suffered in late November. It remains to be seen whether or not Flacco participates fully in the opening practices and the preseason games. This is the first time he is coming off a major injury so the Ravens have no reason to rush him back.

More importantly, he told reporters that he will be on the field for the first practice which is a huge sigh of relief in Baltimore. The Ravens found out how difficult life can be without their franchise quarterback last season and they have to do everything right to make sure Flacco is healthy to play this season.

Eugene Monroe Out, Ronnie Stanley In at Left Tackle

The Ravens were reportedly interested in drafting Laremy Tunsil with their first-round pick, but once the video surfaced of him smoking marijuana, the Ravens went with Ronnie Stanley with the 6th pick. Just weeks later, they released Eugene Monroe, who has been adamant about marijuana usage in the NFL.

Needless to say, the Ravens do not want guys who smoke dope. Even if it means placing a rookie left tackle to protect the blindside of a quarterback coming off ACL surgery. The Ravens better be right about this move, or it could be another season without Flacco.
