Baltimore Ravens, Mike Wallace Agree to Two-Year Deal
By Joe Serpico
An agreement has finally been reached between the Baltimore Ravens and free agent wide receiver Mike Wallace.
We have been waiting for this moment since the weekend and it’s finally come to an end. Mike Wallace is officially joining the Baltimore Ravens.
The contract is for two years at $11.5 million, a more than friendly deal for the Ravens. Wallace met with team officials today and is scheduled to address the media at 3:30 this afternoon.
Wallace became a free agent after he failed to work out a pay cut with the Minnesota Vikings. He is coming off the worst season of his NFL career, but at 29 years old, he still has the wheels to make things happen. Furthermore, adding Wallace does not count against the compensatory program that the Ravens value.

The addition of Wallace gives Baltimore assurances that they will have at least one deep threat this year. Steve Smith and Breshad Perriman are coming off injuries, and while Kamar Aiken played admirably last season, he is not the game changer that Wallace has the potential to be.
This has been one of the more active offseasons in the Ozzie Newsome era as the Ravens have also signed Eric Weddle and Ben Watson, in addition to Wallace. That’s three former Pro Bowlers to sign since the start of the new calendar year.
Those who thought that Baltimore could be entering a rebuilding mode were mistaken as this team is attempt to get back into contention in a hurry. Baltimore has now address many of their concerns and can enter the draft looking for the best player available rather than trying to fill needs.
