2. Boston Red Sox – Mookie Betts, Chris Young, Brock Holt, Bryce Brentz

The 23-year-old Betts had his first full season last year for the Red Sox, and lived up to his billing. In his partial season the year before, Betts hit .291. In 2015, Betts hit .291/.341/.479 with 18 HRs, 42 2Bs, 77 RBIs, 92 R, 21 SBs. That is filling out the stat sheet. Betts rated with a 4.9 oWAR, but his dWAR was not shabby either, a 1.4.

Betts spent more time in center field than right in 2015, but the Red Sox are putting Jackie Bradley Jr. there in 2016. So, Betts will play the short fence and Pesky’s Pole. Betts was third in doubles in 2015, and 4th in power-speed #.

I can’t see Betts having a bad enough year he gets demoted, but if he would move back to center field, Chris Young or the super-utility man Brock Holt would cover RF for the Red Sox.
