Close Out

The most gut-wrenching part of this season has been how close Baltimore has been from winning a lot of these tight games. A few plays to their way and we could be talking about a 6-3 team rather than 2-7. Their inability to put teams away in the fourth quarter has cost them all year long.

Penalties and the inability to make stops on defense have hurt this team. The Ravens had several opportunities to put the game away against the Jaguars, but couldn’t make the necessary plays. The key play that sticks out is Kendrick Lewis dropping an interception that would have won the game on Jacksonville’s final drive. Instead, he couldn’t come up with the catch and we know what happened afterwards.

Baltimore needs to win the final quarter. It’s as simple as that. They have failed to do so the majority of the season. They need to exit the third quarter with a lead and run the clock in the fourth. That’s the type of football that we are used to seeing from the Baltimore Ravens in the past.
