Baltimore Ravens: Injury Report vs. Philadelphia Eagles
By Joe Serpico
The Baltimore Ravens were victims of the injury bug last season and that plague apparently hasn’t left the team as the injuries are starting to mount up.
The Ravens already lost Matt Elam and Brent Urban to potential season-long injuries, and enter tonight’s preseason game with a handful of injuries also.
Here is a rundown of the Ravens injury report:
Breshad Perriman (knee) – OUT
The first-round pick has been out since the opening day of training camp with a knee injury that was originally diagnosed as a bruise. Now, we are hearing that he had a mild sprain and there was still some swelling in his knee. The rookie wide receiver will be sidelined for this week’s game and depending on when he returns, he could miss the entire preseason.
Dennis Pitta (hip) – OUT / PUP
Pitta has been out of action since Week 3 of last season when he went down untouched with a hip dislocation. The tight end has been placed on the physically unable to perform list and won’t be eligible to play until Week 7 against the Arizona Cardinals.
Kelechi Osemele (Achilles) – Doubftul
The starting left guard has been battling an Achilles injury for the most of training camp. Osemele was able to practice fully Thursday, but was held out on Friday. He told reporters that “it’d be tough” to play a game right now so he is likely out for this contest.
Lardarius Webb (hamstring) – Doubftul
The cornerback misses more practice time as Webb has missed multiple days with a hamstring injury. Constant injuries have been a problem for Webb and players like Kyle Arrington and Cassius Vaughn could cut into Webb’s playing time if he can’t stay on the field. He played in last week’s game against the Saints, but is unlikely to play again tonight.

John Urschel (concussion) – Questionable
The guard returned to practice Wednesday after sitting out nearly two weeks with a head injury. The injury occurred after Urschel fell to the ground hard, hitting his head in the process. At this point of the preseason, there is no reason to rush him back so it would be a surprise to see him play.
Terrence Brooks (knee) – Questionable
Brooks returned to practice this week after starting training camp on the PUP list after tearing his ACL and MCL against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Dec. 14. His return is crucial as the Ravens already lost safety Matt Elam to a biceps injury earlier in camp. It’s unlikely that Baltimore will immediately put him on the playing field after just returning to practice this week.
Ricky Wagner (leg) – Questionable
The Ravens right tackle was injured during practice with the Eagles on Wednesday and has not been on the field since. The move was probably a precautionary one as Wagner was quoted as “fine” by Harbaugh. A decision on whether he will play won’t likely be made until near game time.
Timmy Jernigan (foot) – Probable
Jernigan went down with a foot injury on Aug. 8 and missed the preseason opener against the Saints. He returned to practice on Aug. 15 and has been a full go at the joint practices with the Eagles. He should start the game tonight.
Here are the remainder of injuries the Ravens are currently dealing with:
Jah Reid (back)
Robert Myers (concussion)
Steven Means (groin)
Kapron Lewis-Moore (unknown)
Undrafted rookies Darryl Baldwin and Blaine Clausell weren’t present for Friday’s walkthrough as well.
