The team waived defensive tackle Casey Walker after he came off the PUP (physically unable to perform) list Monday, when he practiced for the first time after missing the first four training camp practices due to a knee injury. The Ravens signed him off the New England Patriots’ practice squad in December last year.
He played one game with Baltimore and five with New England last season. He had no sacks with the Ravens and only one with the Patriots along with only 12 total tackles in his short rookie year between both teams.
The team was quick to sign another young defensive tackle. Micajah Reynolds takes the second-year player’s spot on the roster and provides an upgrade in size.
Walker was 6-foot-1, 340 pounds, while the newcomer is 6-foot-5, 330 pounds. The sizes are quite different, and the Ravens could use Reynolds’s size for a bigger presence on the defensive line.

He spent time with the Miami Dolphins during training camp last year with game action in one preseason game before playing in the Arena League with the Las Vegas Outlaws. He played his college football with Michigan.
In more related news to the defensive line, rookie defensive tackle Carl Davis took snaps alongside the first-team defense. It looks like the third-round pick is fitting right into the defense, and as insiders said earlier in the offseason, he may be the rookie with the most snaps this season.
The rookie may not be a starter, but he still could certainly play a lot during the season. The team often rotates defensive linemen, so he could find himself playing a good bit of those snaps.
