General Manager Ozzie Newsome used six of the nine draft selections on offensive players, using free agency to fill needs along the defense. Several members of the national media labeled the Ravens’ class as the top in this year’s draft, but time will tell how the 2015 class pans out.
The Ravens have some undrafted rookie free agents that have a shot at making the roster. DeAndre Carter is an interesting prospect from Cal State-Sacramento. Cam Worthy from East Carolina is another big receiver with skills. Darryl Baldwin is a talent at tackle. There are also two Alabama products in Nick Perry and Troy DePriest. They all have an uphill battle to make the team, but every year there are surprises around the league.
Harbaugh has a lot of depth throughout the roster which is a good problem to have. It also means some good players might have to be let go in the numbers crunch.
The focus of this piece will be on the nine players that the Ravens selected in the 2015 NFL Draft. Some are locks to make the roster, while others will be involved in a battle to make the 53-man roster. The practice squad is also a possibility for a number of the first-year players, but other teams can add them to their rosters if they play well in the preseason.
