Best Offseason Signing: Justin Forsett

This award really had no contest. Justin Forsett was easily the best signing the Ravens made this offseason and possibly the best offseason signing in the NFL. Justin Forsett was signed as a fourth-string running back on the veteran minimum salary, and he worked his way up the depth chart all the way to become the starter.

He is just a great feel good story in the NFL. Though he almost retired until the Ravens signed him in April, Forsett finished fifth in total yards and finished with 17 rushes of 20+ yard runs, which leads the NFL.

The Ravens had a lot of bad publicity leading up to the season, and Forsett helped the Ravens gain some quality publicity. His impact off the field was great, but his impact on the field is even better.

Bernard Pierce is very inconsistent, and Taliaferro fumbled midway through the season, ended up in the dog house and then eventually was injured and put on injured reserve. Without Forsett, the Ravens rushing attack would not be even close to their eighth-best rushing attack that they finished the season with.
