If the Baltimore Ravens fail to make the playoffs in 2014, the main culprit for that will be the injuries that they have suffered. In the secondary particularly Baltimore has lost some key contributors to injuries since the beginning of the season.
Getting into details, four players from the secondary have suffered season-ending injuries this year, including the team’s top cornerback Jimmy Smith. He suffered that injury early in the season, and it contributed greatly to the horrific performance that the secondary has put on display this season.
But enough recapping this season. Right now, Cleveland is the focus. Let’s take a look at which players will and won’t be participating in this game:
Eugene Monroe is DOUBTFUL
Left tackle Eugene Monroe is fighting through an ankle injury and likely won’t play in the season finale. If the Ravens do make it past Week 17, he is a player that they will desperately want back.
However, he is not the only offensive lineman to go down in the last couple of weeks. Starting right tackle Rick Wagner suffered a season-ending foot sprain last week. This means the Ravens will be featuring two backup linemen on Sunday, which is obviously not a good situation to be in.

It’s really a shame, because the O-line has performed at such a high level this season. Joe Flacco has been sacked just 18 times this year, which is the second-least among starting quarterbacks, second only to Peyton Manning‘s 16.
Questionable: OLB Terrell Suggs, DT Chris Canty, RB Fitzgerald Toussaint
Two of the Ravens main defensive contributors are in danger of missing the game on Sunday. Suggs has been battling through a thigh injury and missed the entire week of practice. Even with this occurring, I still expect Suggs to make it to the field on Sunday. The Ravens have seen him play through far more severe injuries, and this will not hold him out of this must-win game.
The same goes for Canty. He also missed the entire week of practice due to an ankle injury, but he is a veteran, and has played on Sunday’s without practice many times.
Rookie running back Fitz Toussaint was the only other player listed as questionable. He received his first NFL action last week, taking four handoffs, but he might miss the season finale due to his ribs.
As for the Browns, they have a few impactful players that are listed as questionable for this game. Those players are: cornerback Joe Haden (shoulder), defensive lineman Desmond Bryant (thumb), wide receiver Andrew Hawkins (thumb), and linebacker Jabaal Sheard (foot).
