Finally! The 6-foot rookie out of Coastal Carolina led the NFL in rushing yards in the preseason. Due to Bernard Pierce missing Sunday’s game, fourth-round pick Lorenzo Talliafero got his first chance as a pro, and he excelled.
Ravens’ fans have been screaming for him to get a chance, and they finally got their wish in Week 3. He started the game off with an eight-yard run and continued his success throughout the ball game. A couple of hard-fought yards plus a long 31-yard sprint helped him accumulate to 91 yards rushing on the day on 18 carries.
He wasn’t the only Ravens’ back to record his first career touchdown. Fullback Kyle Juszczyk out of Harvard received the first Baltimore touchdown of the game, as Joe Flacco hooked up with him on a nine-yard touchdown in the second quarter.
Justin Forsett continued his impressive start to the season in this one, carrying the ball 11 times for 63 yards (5.7 yards-per-carry). All in all, the Ravens totaled 160 yards on the ground.
