Baltimore Ravens vs. 49ers: Who’s Playing, Who’s Not

The preseason kicks off today for 30 teams in the NFL and excitement flies around the league. In Baltimore, there’s excitement about several things.

The Baltimore Ravens drafted several young players to fill in starting roles in the past two years and fans are eager to see whether they will live up to their potential or not. The Ravens also added offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak who will install the West Coast offense into the Ravens’ game plan. The team acquired veteran Steve Smith who has been catching balls left and right in training camp so far.

More from Baltimore Ravens

Running back is a big question as starter Ray Rice had his worst season last year. They also drafted two running backs in the last three rounds as well as acquiring Justin Forsett this past offseason.

With that being said, the preseason will kick off tonight and we might get a taste of what this new offense will look like. In the first game, the starters typically play about 20 to 23 minutes and the quarterback might only last for three sets. However, we’ll take what we can get.

So who’s playing and who isn’t in this Super Bowl rematch against the San Francisco 49ers? Teams aren’t required to submit an official injury report during the preseason so we will do the best we can.

Not playing – DT Terrence Cody (hip), CB Lardarius Webb (back), OG Will Rackley (concussion)

Terence Cody was placed on the physically unable to perform list just a few weeks ago as he recovers from offseason surgery. Webb will miss the first two games of the preseason due to a lingering back injury that he suffered last week.

Playing – DT Kapron Lewis-Moore (ACL)

After missing the entire season last year, Lewis-Moore will take part in his first NFL game on Thursday night. He spent the entire year on the injured reserve due to a torn ACL he suffered in his final college game.

Game-time decisions – WR Michael Campanoro (rib), MLB Daryl Smith (groin), DT Timmy Jernigan (back)

Daryl Smith returned to practice Monday after missing five straight but did not participate in team drills. Jernigan did participate in team drills Monday for the first time since returning from injuries. Rookie receiver Michael Campanoro was held out of Monday’s practice and his status for Thursday night’s game is unknown.
