A couple of days from now this article will look either brilliant or really stupid. But here it goes anyway.

Yes, the Baltimore Ravens have had a few bad days. And yes, the Pittsburgh Steelers managed to not blow their first game with the Cleveland Browns. But no, the Ravens do not need to worry too much about the Steelers.

Why do I say this? Well…..it’s because of one preseason game. Yes, I really am crazy.

But I was in the stands for the third preseason game between the Steelers and the home Philadelphia Eagles. The third preseason game is when the starters play quite a lot to get tuned up for the real season. And during that game the Steelers looked lifeless and impotent against the Eagles.

It was a blowout. A massacre. The Eagles had their way with their in-state rivals. The other home team at Lincoln Financial Field, the Temple Owls, could have played better than the Steelers. And Temple football is not good.

The final score was 31-21 but that didn’t reflect the whole story. Pittsburgh didn’t even have a score until into the third quarter when Ben Roethlisberger and Heath Miller‘s first string offense scored against some of the second and third string players on the Eagles defense.

More from Baltimore Ravens

The Steelers defense was not much better. Nick Foles was amazing against them. But the real story was that the Steelers could not stop Mark Sanchez. Let me repeat, Mary Sanchez!!!! Foles proved last year that he can lead a team. Sanchez has only ever proven that he can butt fumble with the best of them.

So this is the NFL and any team can win. You know, Any Given Sunday, and all. So the actual team has to be prepared for the Steelers and not be flip like we can. But we fans shouldn’t worry too much. Baltimore has this one.
