Orioles To Wear Patch to Celebrate 60th Anniversary

Yesterday, the Baltimore Orioles unveiled a 60th anniversary commemorative patch that will be worn on all jerseys during the upcoming season.

The patch is very well designed and pays tribute to the past as well as the future. The 1954 Orioles script adorns the top of the patch and also includes both the 1954 and current Oriole bird in the design.

You will notice that there are three stars at the bottom. Each star represents the three World Series championships. The star thing is usually seen on soccer jerseys to signify championships but the design idea has made it on basketball and football uniforms for some colleges like the University of Maryland.

I really like following the craziness of the uniform world and the Baltimore Orioles uniform was actually voted as the best in Major League Baseball this year by ESPN’s SportsNation.

Some patches make a baseball uniform look tacky, but this 60th anniversary patch compliments an already amazing uniform.
