The Baltimore Orioles 2018 Season is coming to an end in three weeks which means the team will be in transition mode.

The most important offseason questions facing the Baltimore Orioles in the offseason is whether or not both Dan Duquette and Buck Showalter will be back in 2019. But what other storylines will you be interested in once the season ends?

The roster will be completely different by the time Opening Day 2019 hits. Adam Jones doesn’t figure to be part of the rebuild process. The writing is already on the wall due to him not playing in the Tampa Bay series.

I’m more curious as to who will join Cedric Mullins in the outfield for the 2019 Orioles. Let’s hope they Mark Trumbo can be dealt elsewhere so that Trey Mancini can stop playing the outfield and split time between first and DH with Chris Davis. If Trumbo does get traded, Austin Hays, if healthy will be in right field. No more of the Jace Peterson experience.

The infield is another area where the Orioles need to evaluate some players in the offseason and during Spring Training. Tim Beckham is probably a utility player at best, so it would be good for the Orioles to look elsewhere. Ryan Mountcastle should get a serious look at third. What do the Orioles have to lose?

I’m digging Jonathan Villar at second. He’s a total gamer and has done well since being traded to the Orioles at the deadline for Jonathan Schoop.

Let’s hope the Orioles have enough talent in the minors to at least put a competitive team on the field in 2019.

What are your other storylines for the Baltimore Orioles heading into the offseason? How would you react if the Orioles let Buck Showalter go and then hire Mike Bordick as the next manager of the Baltimore Orioles?
