CLEVELAND, OH – DECEMBER 17: Alex Collins /

1. Alex Collins, RB

Baltimore Ravens running back Alex Collins surprised the 2017 fantasy football world with his extraordinary play after taking over the starting running back role.

Despite being the clear No. 1 back in the Ravens offense, the team still has potent running backs on their roster in Kenneth Dixon and Buck Allen. If Collins is able to maintain the featured back role in Baltimore, he’s more than likely starting material on your fantasy football team.

The 2016 fifth-round draft selection began training camp in 2017 with the Seattle Seahawks until being waived just before Week 1. The Ravens quickly grabbed him and was a welcoming addition to the Ravens crowded backfield.

In 15 games last season with the Ravens, Collins nearly hit the 1,000-yard rushing mark as he ran for 973 rushing yards in 212 rush attempts, along with six touchdowns. Former Arkansas running back also hauled in 23 receptions for 187 yards and averaged 8.1 yards per catch.

Collins sits No. 45 overall fantasy player according to ESPN.com’s fantasy football top-300 players and lands No. 18 overall among fantasy running backs. In favor of Collins, FantasyPros.com gives the running back the 12th easiest schedule.
