1. Chicago Cubs

Yea, no shock there. We’ve written previously about what it might take to get Manny in Chicago, and it seems like there’s a pretty clear desire from the Cubs to get Manny.

Any trade of Manny to the Cubs would more than likely involve Addison Russell, who himself is a former top prospect who just hasn’t really put it together in the major leagues yet. Still though, Russell is just 24-years-old and has shown flashes of potential in the past, including a 21 home run, 95 RBI season in 2016. If Russell gets traded, there’s a clear path for Manny to play shortstop for the Cubs.

Obviously Russell alone wouldn’t be enough to get Manny—the Cubs have some intriguing pitching prospects they could pair with Russell to make the trade pretty beneficial to the Orioles.

Adding in pitchers like Adbert Alzolay, Oscar De La Cruz, Alex Lange, Brendon Little, or Jose Albertos could make a potential Machado to Chicago trade make a lot of sense. Plus, it could help give the Cubs a serious edge in another run at a World Series.
