Baltimore Orioles: 5 Teams Manny Machado Could End Up On

3. Philadelphia Phillies

The Phillies seem to be a pretty good fit for Machado, and they pretty clearly are going to pursue him in free agency, so it makes sense for them to trade for him.

This is another instance in which Manny would likely have to play shortstop, as it’s not likely Maikel Franco is going to play anywhere but third base. Still though, the Phillies are a solid, young team with a lot of talent that could build around Manny and turn into a serious World Series contender.

The Phillies definitely have the prospects to trade as well. They could easily offer up infielders J.P. Crawford or Scott Kingery along with a pitching prospect (like, say, Sixto Sanchez or Adonis Medina?) to get Machado, and that’s a trade that would make a lot of sense for the Orioles.
