Maryland basketball sharp-shooterKevin Huerterturned some heads at the NBA draft combine 2018, raising the question if he’ll actually forego his final two years at Maryland?
Just 20 minutes into the 2018 NBA draft combine,Maryland basketballstar Kevin Huerter raised his NBA draft stock tremendously andper Jesse Doughertyof The Washington Post, his smooth three-point shots garnered enough attention to put Peja Stojakovic, Los Angeles Lakers Head CoachLuke Waltonand several NBA scouts in awe.
The Maryland guard/forward declared for the NBA draft but didn’t hire an agent, making him eligible to return to Maryland basketball for the 2018-19 season.
Huerter will have up until May 30 to officially announce his decision and after the NBA draft combine, odds have increased dramatically that Huerter may hire an agent and enter his name to June’s NBA draft.
Just how good was Huerter at the combine?
According to ESPN draft analyst Mike Schmitz, Huerter has locked himself as a first-round draft pick with his inspiring performance this past week in Chicago.

In the NBA draft combinespot up shooting drill, Huerter converted on 100 percent of his NBA break right and corner right shots. Huerter was just one of two participants to accomplish the feat and also made all of his college corner right shots as well.
Huerter’s 87.1 percent in the on the move fifteennon-stationary shooting drillplaced second, only behind point guardCarsen Edwardswho finished with 88 percent of shots made.
However,Don Markusof The Baltimore Sun reports Huerter was unable to take part in the four scrimmages after aggravating a torn ligament in the right pinkie of his shooting hand.

In an interview with NBC Sports Washington’s Chris Miller, Huerter mentioned he has two great options to either enter the NBA draft or return to a very talented Maryland basketball team.
If Huerter, along with his teammate and centerBruno Fernandoreturn to Maryland, they may find themselves in thetop 25preseason college basketball rankings.
Huerter averaged 14.8 points last season, along with five rebounds and 3.4 assists in his sophomore year at the University of Maryland. The Clifton Park native also shot 41.7 percent from beyond the arc last season after shooting 37.1 percent his freshman season.
