8. Joe Flacco – QB, 2008 NFL Draft

★★★★★

It’s hard to say that picking Joe Flacco with the 18th-overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft hasn’t been a resounding success. With that pick, the Baltimore Ravens found their franchise quarterback, likely the best quarterback they’ve had since the team first showed up in Baltimore.

Say what you will about Flacco within the context of the rest of the NFL, and say what you will about his massive contract, he has been a significant contributor to the success of this team over the years.

While Flacco has never been named to a Pro Bowl, he was memorable Super Bowl MVP of Super Bowl XLVII. He’s had some rough seasons, no doubt, especially lately, but for the entirety of his career so far, Flacco has been a solid NFL quarterback that has helped the Baltimore Ravens be the perennial playoff contender that they’ve been over the past near-decade.
