Baltimore Orioles Spring Training Day 1 Highlights, Linecum Showcase
Pitchers and catchers took part in the first day of workouts as the rest of the Baltimore Orioles baseball team arrive at Orioles spring training.
The Baltimore Orioles are one of 10 teams set to attend free agent pitcher Tim Lincecum‘s showcase.
According to MASNsports.com’s Roch Kubatko, Dan Duquette confirmed Orioles will be in attendance to scout Lincecum at his showcase on Thursday.
The other teams reportedly attending the showcase are the Detriot Tigers, Minnesota Twins, Texas Rangers, New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, San Diego Padres, among others.

Lincecum, 33, made nine starts going 2-6 with a 9.16 ERA in 2016 with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim before missing the entire 2017 season.
The southpaw is a two-time National League Cy Young in back-to-back years (2008, 2009), along with four consecutive All-Star selections from 2008-2011.
Since then, Lincecum’s production and effectiveness have been on a continued downward slope. In his last five seasons from 2012 through 2016, Lincecum has gone 41-48 with a 4.94 ERA in 654 innings pitched. However, Lincecum has to no-hitters in that time period in 2013 and the following season in 2014.
ESPN’s Jerry Crasnick reports Lincecum is “sporting a bulked-up physique” and was evident from a tweet in Dec. as the lefty was seen working out.
If Lincecum proves worthy of a spot in an MLB rotation, why not sign him? Right now, the Baltimore Orioles are a team with three vacant rotation spots, could use almost any kind of starting pitching at the moment.
