Baltimore Orioles: 5 Potential Trade Targets for This Offseason
By Ben Palmer
1. Marcell Ozuna – OF, Miami Marlins
Marcell Ozuna’s amazing breakout season for the Miami Marlins was overshadowed a bit by Giancarlo Stanton’s amazing season, but that’s not to take away from what Ozuna accomplished.
Last season, Ozuna slashed .312/.376/.548 with 37 home runs, 93 runs, and 124 RBIs. Now, there’s reason to be skeptical of some of those numbers, specifically the batting average given his .355 BABIP last year, but still, Ozuna is a great hitter.
The Marlins are basically having a firesale, they’re likely to trade Stanton and it wouldn’t be surprising if they traded Ozuna and Dee Gordon too. Ozuna wouldn’t be cheap for the Orioles by any stretch, but he would immediately become one of the best hitters on the team.
Even if Ozuna regresses a bit next year, his power is legit, so if he bats in the .270s with 30+ home runs, you can’t complain about that at all.

I think the only thing that would stop the Baltimore Orioles from trading for Ozuna would be his price. The Marlins are going to want prospects, and good prospects at that, something that the Orioles are in short supply of. However, if they decided to make the trade, Ozuna would be an awesome addition to the team.
