Maryland basketball is playing in primetime against the Butler Bulldogs in the Gavitt games. Both teams are 2-0 on the season so far, with game time starting tonight at 8:30 p.m. EST on FS1.

The Terps are facing the Bulldogs for only the second time on Wednesday and while they have a new coach in Lavall Jordan, the Terps can’t afford to underestimate them at home.

The Terps beat the Georgetown Hoyas 76-75 last season and in the Xfinity Center, they play very well. To break down non-conference play, here’s how dominant Maryland basketball is at home. Last season, they had an overall record of 13-5. In non-conference play, they were 10-1.  Since the 2014-15 season, the Terps have recorded 28 wins and only two losses at home in non-conference play.  Talk about home court advantage.

More from Maryland Terrapins

Some players to watch for as Maryland basketball takes on the Bulldogs:

Butler Forward Kelan Martin (20 PPG, 11.5 RPG, two APG). He has size and length at six-foot-seven, 220 pounds. He was second-team All-Big East the last two seasons and was Butler’s leading scorer and rebounder last season (16 PPG and 5.8 RPG). If Maryland basketball can’t stop him, they need to contain him at least.

The other Bulldog is Sophomore Guard Kamar Baldwin who is crafty on the defensive end. As a freshman for the Bulldogs, his 59 steals put him at eighth most in single-season school history and he was a unanimous All-Freshman Big East selection. Maryland guards are going to have to be careful around him tonight.
