BONUS: Joe Thomas – LT, Cleveland Browns

This is a trade I think the Baltimore Ravens should make, but it’s not necessarily one that has to be made at the trade deadline, it could be made in the offseason.

Joe Thomas is one of the best offensive linemen in the NFL, and he’s out for the season with a torn triceps. He’s been playing with the Browns since he was drafted as the third-overall pick in the 2003 NFL Draft, and as we’re all aware, the Browns have gone absolutely nowhere in all that time.

Meanwhile, Thomas has been faithfully plugging away, going to 10 Pro Bowls and being named to seven first-team All-Pros. He needs to get out of Cleveland, he’s 32 and his career doesn’t have too many years of dominance left in it.

The Ravens need an offensive lineman. They have Marshal Yanda (who’s out for this year) and they have Ronnie Stanley, both of whom have been very good, but that’s about it. Joe Thomas could fill a massive need for the team on the line.

As for where Thomas would play, I would bet either he or Stanley could slide over to the right tackle position, and an offensive line that includes Thomas, Stanley, and Yanda is one to be feared and could help Joe Flacco and whoever is at running back improve their play significantly.
