The Baltimore Orioles announce the 2018 spring training home schedule at Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota as they prepare for a bounce-back season.

The 2017 MLB playoffs are in full swing, but that didn’t stop the last-place Baltimore Orioles from announcing their 2018 spring training home schedule at Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota.

The Orioles spring training home schedule consists of 16 games, which opens Feb. 23 at 1:05 p.m. ET as they host American League East division foe Tampa Bay Rays. Notable matchups include a pair of interleague matchups against the St. Louis Cardinals on Feb. 28 and the New York Mets on March 18 at 1:05 p.m. ET.

Below is the spring training home schedule calendar from the official Twitter account of the Baltimore Orioles:

The Orioles will host the Rays three times, the Minnesota Twins, Toronto Blue Jays, Boston Red Sox and Pittsburgh Pirates during the progression of the Orioles spring training schedule. In the 16 home spring training matchups, four of the games are night games starting at 6:05 p.m. ET.

Those planning on an Orange Spring, single-game tickets for all 16 Orioles home spring training games go on sale in 2018 on Jan. 13 at 10:00 p.m. ET. Furthermore, fans interested Spring Training season ticket plans in Sarasota, call 941-893-6300.

In 2017, the Orioles finished Spring Training with a record of 16-14 in the Grapefruit League that was won by no other than the Yankees who finished 24-9.

Expect the Orioles to have a new look pitching staff in 2018, or at least hope, as Orioles vice president Dan Duquette calls this offseason a reload, not a rebuild. If Duquette expects to have the Orioles back in the MLB playoffs in 2018, he must go after free agents instead of waiting until midway through spring training to make his acquisitions.
