Maryland football recruiting hopes to add to their nationally ranked 2018 recruiting class as they await the decision from cornerback Vincent Flythe.

Maryland football recruiting isn’t done adding top talent to their 2018 recruiting class and has a chance to snag H.D. Woodson High School cornerback Vincent Flythe. The three-star recruit announced via Twitter that he will commit Friday, June 23  at 7 p.m. ET.

Flythe’s commitment to Maryland would be enormous considering the run Maryland recruiting has been on in the last week or so.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Flythe is ranked No. 62 Cornerback and the No. 9 best player in Washington D.C. If Flythe’s commits to the University of Maryland Friday night, the Terps would have 12 commits for their 2018 class and the DMV to UMD movement would continue to gain traction. Flythe would also be the Terps’ fifth defensive commit and only defensive back in the class.

Vincent Flythe earned First Team All-State and First Team All-Conference in 2016 for the H.D. Woodson Warriors who went 11-3 (6-0 DCIAA Stars region). Flythe is a baller at cornerback and he has great ball skills and hands at the position. He can cover well in man coverage. He has speed as well which can be seen when he comes down to blitz from his corner spot.

He has Wisconsin, Louisville, Georgia, Temple and Kentucky also. Wisconsin, Louisville and Georgia, I see as tough competition for his services because of what they have been able to do in college football over the last few years. If he doesn’t choose Maryland, one of those three schools could get him.

Maryland has one thing going for them though. Aazar Abdul-Rahim, the Terps’ cornerback coach has been an ace in the local recruiting scene for them so that could play a factor in Flythe’s decision to stay.

Vincent Flythe would be another solid addition to Maryland’s defense but fans will have wait and see who he picks at 7:00 p.m. ET on June 23.
