Pick Analysis. Forward. Bulgaria. Aleksandar Vezenkov. 52. Scouting Report. player. 142

Tomas Satoranksy, Jan Vesley, Nemanja Bjellcia, Oleksiy Pecherov, Vladimir Veremeenko are all the international players the Washington Wizards have drafted since 2006. All but one player from the group above currently is playing in the NBA. Without further ado, I present you with Aleksandar Vezenkov, a 6-foot-9 forward and projected Wizards draft pick in NBADraft.net’s 2017 NBA Mock Draft.

At 19-years-old, Barcelona forward Aleksandar Vezenkov was a projected first-round pick in the 2015 NBA Draft. Instead of taking advantage of his rise in NBA Draft big boards, Vezenkov elected to return to overseas to continue his basketball career with Barcelona.

Now at 21 years of age, Vezenkov enters the 2017 NBA Draft after a season with Barcelona where he averaged 8.7 points and shot 35.6 percent from beyond the arc. The NBA Draft prospect ranks No. 8 for small forwards in NBADraft.net’s 2017 Positional Rankings, ahead of Oregon’s Dillion Brooks and V.J. Beachem from Notre Dame.

The Wizards, however, are likely to bring back restricted free-agent Otto Porter and already have a budding 21-year-old Kelly Oubre Jr. on their roster. Nonetheless, with his height and 225-pound frame, Vezenkov can play the power forward position, making him a diverse stretch player the Wizards could use.
