Nevada. player. 52. 142. Full Mock Draft. Pick Analysis. Forward. Cameron Oliver

CBSSports.com’s Gary Parrish forecasts the Washington Wizards to land 6-foot-9 Nevada forward Cameron Oliver in his 2017 NBA Mock Draft. After testing the NBA waters after his freshman year, Oliver chose to return and play his sophomore year at Nevada to polish his game.

In his sophomore season, Oliver averaged 16 points, 8.7 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game, leading Nevada to their first NCAA Tournament bid since joining the Mountain West Conference. With his rugged 239-pound frame and NBA Draft Combine measurements of a 7-foot-1 wingspan and a standing reach of 8 feet 10 inches, Oliver possesses the size and athleticism to experience success at the NBA level.

Starter Markieff Morris, Jason Smith, a first-round pick of the 2015 NBA Draft Chris McCullough and undrafted free agent Daniel Ochefu are the current power forwards on the Washington Wizards roster. So how would Oliver fit with the reigning 2016-17 Southeast Division champions?

Compared to NBA power forward Kenneth Faried by NBADraft.net, Oliver would deliver explosiveness, toughness, and intensity to the Wizards team, characteristics the Wizards lacked last season and into the 2017 NBA playoffs.
