A final option is Tanner Scott. Think of him as Aroldis Chapman for the Baltimore Orioles. Scott repeatedly throws over 100 miles per hour and reportedly hit 103 this year. As a starter.

Interestingly, this is the first time the Orioles have used him as a starter. He has saved seven games in the minor leagues between 2015 and 2016.

The ERA numbers aren’t great, but his ERA so far in six starts (going three innings a start) is 1.50. That is good. He also is a high strikeout guy, averaging 11.6 strikeouts per nine innings while in the minor leagues. Scott is also 22 years old.

While the team is looking to use him as a starter, it may make more sense for him to be a late-inning reliever in the future. With his power arm, he is certainly an intriguing option.
