Home court advantage has proved to be the difference in the compelling Eastern Conference semifinals in the NBA playoffs involving the Washington Wizards against the Boston Celtics with the Wizards vs. Celtics Game 5 set for Wednesday night at 8:00 p.m. ET on TNT.

After dropping the first two games of the series in Boston, the Wizards have stormed back to tie the series at 2-2 with two blowout victories in the Friendly Confines of Verizon Center. John Wall, who is averaging 28.8 points, 11.1 assists and 2.1 steals this postseason, scored 27 points in Game 4 despite missing his first nine shots from the field.

Wizards forward Kelly Oubre will return for Game 5 after serving a one-game suspension for shoving Celtics center Kelly Olynyk in Game 3. With Oubre out, the Wizards 3-point specialist Bojan Bogdanovic emerged as a steady scorer in Game 4 with 13 points off of 5-of-7 from the field.

More from Washington Wizards

After scoring a combined 25 points in Game 2 and 3, Wizards guard Bradley Beal bounced back shooting an impressive 11-for-16 from the field for 29 points. Game 3 in both playoff series has haunted Beal this postseason. In Game 3 of the first-round series against the Atlanta Hawks, Beal scored just 12 points after shooting a woeful 6-for-20 from the field. Beal’s mirrored his play from Game 3 last series to the East semis, scoring just 11 points against the Celtics. To be fair, the Wizards completely destroyed the Celtics in Game 3, giving Beal some time to rest.

While the rest of the sports world debates about the “inevitable” trilogy of the Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Golden State Warriors in the 2017 NBA Finals, the Wizards and Celtics are in the midst of a fierce second-round playoff series with the defying Game 5 Wednesday night in Boston.
