Can Gausman put it Together?

Kevin Gausman is a good pitcher against the New York Yankees, with a lifetime 2.24 ERA versus NYY, and a 2.38 ERA in Yankee Stadium. This would make for a good time for him to turn around his season, which has got off to a rough start.

Gausman is near the bottom in the American League in runs allowed and walks allowed, and needs a bounce-back outing. Maybe against a team has had a lot of success with?

Also, the latest round through the Orioles’ rotation has featured a large number of walks. Ubaldo Jimenez walked five on Monday, Wade Miley walked six on Tuesday, and even Dylan Bundy walked two but was uncharacteristically wild on Wednesday. Gausman will start a new round through the rotation, and it would be great to get off on a good foot.

Everyone knows that the Yankees are a patient bunch, and so the Orioles are going to have to do a better job of being around the plate and throwing strikes.

A piece of good news is that the bullpen should be well-rested, except for possibly Brad Brach, for the series. But, a night game followed by two-day games could make things a bit dicey. For that reason, it would be fantastic for Gausman to pitch a quality start on Friday night.
