1. August 20, 2010, vs. Texas Rangers
In just his 17th game as manager of the Baltimore Orioles, Buck Showalter picked up his first ejection in the black-and-orange.
In the top of the 9th inning, with reliever Matt Albers pitching, an 89-mph fastball was delivered low-and-away for ball two.
As the pitch had crossed the plate, catcher Matt Wieters must have mumbled a phrase that caught the attention of home plate umpire Jeff Nelson.
After Wieters tossed the ball back to Albers, Nelson is seen coming out to brush off a small corner of the plate. Showalter is caught on camera, drastically ceasing to chew his gum and focus on what is being discussed.
A few seconds later, audio is heard of Showalter saying “get off of his a$$” to the home plate umpire and getting into a very intense argument.
