The Washington Wizards (46-29) take on the Utah Jazz (46-29) Friday night as the Wizards play the third game of their four-game West-Coast swing.

The Washington Wizards continue their four-game West-Coast trip Friday night as they visit All-Star Gordon Hayward and the Utah Jazz.

With a playoff berth and the Southeast Division title secured, the Washington Wizards are now fighting for playoff seeding in a close race in the East. Entering Friday’s slate of NBA action, the Wizards continue to hang on to the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference, just one game ahead of the Toronto Raptors.

However, the two-seed and even the top seed in the East is still in reach for the Wizards as they trail the reeling Cleveland Cavaliers by just a game and a half. Furthermore, the Wizards are only two games back from the top-seeded Boston Celtics.

Here’s a clip from the NBA on TNT crew where they review the Eastern Conference playoff picture:

For the Wizards, their magic number for the third seed is seven, along with the toughest remaining schedule out of any of the current eight playoff teams in the East with seven games to go.

The Wizards road trip won’t get any easier tonight as they play the Utah Jazz, who currently sit a game up on the Los Angeles Clippers for the fourth seed in the Western Conference. Both teams still have a lot stake during the final stretch of the 2017 NBA regular seasons as they vie for a top spot in their respective conferences.

According to Land of Basketball, the Utah Jazz owns the all-time season record over the Wizards with 51 wins to the Wizards’ 48 wins. Earlier this season, the Utah Jazz beat the Wizards 102-92 on Feb 26 at Verizon Center.
