3. Wide Receiver

Having Steve Smith Sr. on the Baltimore Ravens was kind of a dream come true for me, as I’ve been a huge fan of his for years. Smith was excellent for the Ravens, despite the team having a mediocre passing offense, but his retirement leaves a big gap to fill.

With Smith gone, Mike Wallace seems to be the only wide receiver on the Ravens with enough experience to fill in that number one role. Only problem is, it’s hard to trust Mike Wallace as a number one receiver.

Granted, Wallace finished with his first 1,000-yard season since 2011, so perhaps there’s still something there, but he’s hard to trust.

First-round pick Breshad Perriman has been alright, and will hopefully improve as time goes on, but he’s got a lot of work to do.

If the right player falls to them, the Ravens could look at a receiver in the first round, someone like Corey Davis or Mike Williams, but the need has to be addressed somewhere. If that’s not in the draft, then it should be in the free agency.
